Frequently Asked Questions
What's the Bluetooth connection range between the alarm clock and the skipping rope?
Skiparoo uses standard Bluetooth, which has an open-air range of about 10 metres — this drops if there are walls between the clock and the rope. We recommend testing the alarm as soon as you set it up, so you know it reaches from your bedroom to wherever you skip.
If the distance is too far, you can bring the battery-powered cube alarm to your skipping spot, complete your jump count there, then put it back on charge afterward.
Can I switch the alarm off without being forced to skip?
This mode can be set up. See the user guide to set up the optional alarm the night before instead of the standard forced alarm.
Will the alarm wake up my partner next to me?
Press any button to start your five-minute snooze — once you begin skipping, the countdown and buzzer both pause, so it won't keep sounding while you work through your jump count. If you stop moving for more than 20 seconds, the buzzer will resume.
If you'd rather not skip right next to your partner at all, you can take the battery-powered cube alarm to another room, complete your jump count there, then bring it back to charge.
What if I don’t have enough space to skip?
The skipping rope is adjustable, so you can set it to the right length. If you have difficulty adjusting it, contact us and we’ll help.
What is the jump count set to?
The jump count is adjustable.
How is the alarm powered? Is it battery-powered?
The alarm can be powered by any standard USB-C source. The battery lasts around six to eight hours and, in standard mode, ensures that you can't switch the alarm off.
What if I go to sleep in the lounge or the next room?
We also have a solution for this using multiple cube alarms. Contact us for more info. For most people, though, the standard alarm function is enough to get them out of bed and get their heart rate up.
What if I just move the alarm to the next room?
If you tend to move the alarm to the next room and go back to sleep, we recommend using an angle bracket or L-shaped bracket to fix it to a desk, bedside table, or wall. If you need help, please contact us.
Why would I want a skipping-rope alarm clock?
A) If you have trouble waking up, repeatedly hit snooze, or find yourself climbing straight back into bed, Skiparoo will get you up and out of bed.
B) Skipping first thing in the morning can create a great sense of rhythm and momentum for the day. It gets your body moving, raises your heart rate, and doubles as a simple workout.
C) Parents can also use Skiparoo as a fun way to encourage kids or teenagers to get out of bed and start their morning.
D) Don’t want to skip every morning? No problem. Skiparoo can also be set up to operate as a normal alarm when you prefer.
Most importantly, it makes waking up more active, playful and enjoyable.
